redirected PVC definition - telecom
In frame relay, an inactive permanent virtual circuit (PVC) that can be activated very quickly to direct traffic around a point of failure in the network or in the access loop. A redirected PVC also can be used to redirect traffic to a backup data center should the primary data center suffer a failure. See also frame relay, local loop, and PVC.
