Routing Information Protocol
Routing Information Protocol definition - hacker
An interior gateway protocol specifying how routers
exchange information about routing tables. Routers exchange entire tables
periodically when they are using RIP. Because this is a rather inefficient
process, RIP is currently replaced by the newer Open
Shortest Path First (OSPF)
protocol.
