valuation definition - finance
The process of determining the worth, or value, of an asset or business. For example, stock analysts typically give a publicly traded company a valuation. Investment bankers determine a valuation on a company using standard industry comparisons. Real estate has professionals called appraisers who put a valuation on a property.
