Lipper Ratings definition - finance
A firm that ranks the performance of mutual funds by the investment objective of the fund, such as a small-cap growth or a fixed-income fund. Lipper Ratings produces rankings for different time periods, such as the most recent quarter, 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years. The rankings are based on total return with capital gains and dividends reinvested. Lipper is owned by Reuters Plc.
