3G technology definition - finance
Short for third-generation technology; wireless technology on the cusp of innovation, which is expected to come into wider use over the next several years. 3G technology includes devices that can send high-speed data and video using wireless technology, cell phones with e‑mail, paging, faxing, and Web browsing capabilities, and phones that can receive calls throughout North America, Europe, and Japan.
